2006 Port of Seattle Fishermen's Terminal Docks 5-10
American Construction Company (ACC) won a contract to replace five fixed docks with five floating docks for the Port of Seattle near Seattle, Washington. The project was essential for the economic growth of the Port of Seattle and the surrounding community.
The replacement of the five fixed docks with the five new floating docks was an extensive project that involved the demolition of the old docks, dredging of 24,000 cubic yards of suitable sediment and 10,800 cubic yards of unsuitable sediment, driving of 241 steel piling (ranging in diameter from 12"-20") and 117 timber fender piling. American also installed 3,000 linear feet of concrete floating main walkway, 4,500 linear feet of concrete floating finger piers, and constructed three fixed bridges of 4,000 SF.
ACC's marine construction, bridge, and dredging experience combined with our positive relationship with both the Port of Seattle and the engineering design firm yielded complete satisfaction for all involved.
