2011 Grays Harbor Dredging
American Construction Company (ACC) was awarded a contract to perform the maintenance dredging for the Port of Grays Harbor. This dredging project was conducted near Hoquiam, Washington.
A total of 950,000 cubic yards were dredged at four different terminals using our 200 ton derrick Patriot and its 34 cubic yard clamshell bucket. There were two dump barges used, the Liberty and the Lummi Island which brought the material to a disposal site that was an average of 13 nautical miles away from the project site.
The original contract was for one year, with the option to extend for a second or third year. As a result of ACC's superior efficiency during the project, the Port of Grays Harbor opted to extend the contract the maximum allowed to the third year.
