2013 Seattle Aquarium
American Construction Company (ACC) won a contract to perform a pier replacement for the Seattle Aquarium which is on the Seattle Waterfront in Seattle, Washington. The project was to conduct an upgrade of the existing pier while maintaining full functionality of the facility.
The contract was to demolish existing creosote apron, pier, and piling and perform a replacement install. ACC successfully completed the project by replacing the old piling with 27 new steel piles and installing 4,500 square feet of new deck (which consisted of 2'-0" thick cast in place concrete and topping slab on precast channel beams). Working closely with the client during the project, ACC ensured the Seattle Aquarium maintained full operations throughout the duration of the project.
The project was completed successfully, on budget, and fully met the needs and expectations of the Seattle Aquarium.
