2010 Port Angeles Terminal 3
American Construction Company (ACC) was awarded the contract for the Port of Port Angeles Terminal 3 Fender System Replacement near Port Angeles, Washington.
ACC furnished and installed eighteen 70' steel fender piling to complete this project for the Port Angeles community. Using a vibratory hammer to replace the broken timber fender piles, ACC was conscious of environmental noise considerations throughout this project and worked within the required minimum standards. In addition, ACC also removed and replaced both the damaged timber walers and the degrading chock with new timbers.
ACC completed the project on time and provided essential value engineering to the project. To eliminate mobilization costs to the port, ACC elected to use a 60 ton rental truck crane for the piling instead of transporting internal assets to the project site. By doing this, ACC was able to reduce costs to the owner and maintain a strong relationship with the Port Angeles community.
