1997 Washington United Terminal (Hyundai)
American Construction Company (ACC) was awarded the Port of Tacoma contract to build the Washington United Terminal (Hyundai) (WUT) in Tacoma, Washington. WUT offers the shortest gateway from Asia and the best protected harbor in Puget Sound which makes it an ideal location for shipping companies.
ACC constructed a 2,000' x 100' wide container terminal pier using 150 foot long pre-stressed concrete piling, cast-in-place concrete caps, pre-stressed and pre-cast deck panels, 50 foot gage crane rail system, precast pile fender system, and associated utilities. The magnitude of this project directly impacts the economy in all port related sectors.
